Understand the Advisory Process Before You Book
An important business issue deserves careful thought—not a rushed answer.
This page will help you understand how the advisory engagement works, what is included, and what you can expect before deciding whether it is right for your situation.
Watch the full video for a complete overview, or go directly to the question you need answered.
The SHIFT Rapid Access Executive Advisory process is designed for owners, executives, and leadership teams facing an important business issue that remains unclear, recurring, or difficult to resolve internally.
This is not a sales call or a general brainstorming session.
Before the conversation, we review the context and materials you provide. During the session, we examine the issue, question assumptions, distinguish symptoms from possible causes, and consider practical options. Afterward, you receive a written executive memo with clearer problem framing and recommended next steps.
The purpose is not to force a quick conclusion. It is to help you make a more informed decision before committing further time, money, or people.

Section 1: Who This Is For
Is This Advisory Engagement Right for Your Situation?
Many business issues do not begin where they first appear.
A decline in sales may reflect a customer, product, pricing, leadership, or operating issue. Cash flow pressure may be connected to margins, inventory, collection practices, or investment decisions. Repeated leadership tension may point to unclear priorities, roles, or accountability.
This engagement is designed for leaders who know that something needs attention but do not yet have enough clarity to act with confidence.
The business is growing, but its problems are becoming more connected.
The same concern continues to return despite repeated efforts.
Leaders disagree about the cause of the problem or the right response.
You are considering a major investment, hire, restructuring, or change in direction.
You need an outside perspective before beginning a larger consulting project.
You want to understand the issue before committing more time, money, or people.
What is the real issue that needs to be addressed?
Are we seeing the cause or only its visible effects?
What assumptions need to be tested?
What information may still be missing?
You are considering a major investment, hire, restructuring, or change in direction.
You need an outside perspective before beginning a larger consulting project.
Immediate crisis execution.
Legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.
A complete financial, technical, or operational audit.
Detailed implementation or project management.
Emergency turnaround support.
Unlimited access to an adviser.
A guaranteed business result.
Section 2: Advisory Process
What Happens Before, During, and After the Conversation?
The engagement is more than a 60-minute call.
Its value comes from the complete advisory cycle: preparation, review, structured analysis, focused discussion,
and written recommendations.
After booking, you will complete a preparation form explaining:
The business issue you want to examine.
The decision you may need to make.
What has already been attempted.
The people or teams involved.
Relevant constraints, concerns, or risks.
The outcome you hope to achieve.
You may also provide selected reports, plans, presentations, summaries, organization charts, or other relevant materials. You do not need to prepare a polished presentation. Share only the information that helps us understand the issue.
Before the session, SHIFT will review your submission and prepare initial questions, possible problem frames, constraints, and areas for discussion.
This allows the conversation to begin with substance rather than general introductions.
The focused 60-minute advisory conversation will examine:
How the issue is currently understood.
Possible differences between symptoms and deeper causes.
Relevant facts, assumptions, and information gaps.
Strategic and operating implications.
Practical options and their trade-offs.
Risks, constraints, and priorities.
Decisions or actions that may need to follow.
The conversation is structured around your actual business situation. It is not a lecture, training class, motivational coaching session, or sales presentation.
A complex issue may not have one simple answer. The goal is to help you leave with a clearer understanding of what must be decided and what deserves attention next.
SHIFT will consolidate the preparation materials, analysis, and advisory discussion into a written executive memo.
The memo will provide:
A clearer framing of the issue.
Possible contributing causes.
Important constraints and considerations.
Practical strategic options.
Relevant risks and trade-offs.
Recommended next steps.
A view on whether deeper work may be required.
Section 3: Engagement Details
What Is Included In The Engagement?
The introductory advisory fee is ₱45,000.
This is not a fee for the 60-minute conversation alone. It covers the professional work required to understand the issue, prepare for the session, conduct the advisory discussion, and produce a useful written output.
1. Booking and engagement confirmation.
2. Preparation intake.
3. Review of selected business materials.
4. Structured issue analysis.
5. Preparation for the advisory conversation.
6. A focused 60-minute session with Prof. Richard Cruz.
7. A written executive problem-framing memo.
8. Strategic options, constraints, and recommended next steps.
9. Identification of possible follow-on work, where appropriate.
The main output is a concise executive memo, normally three to six pages. Depending on the issue and the available information, the memo may include:
A summary of the issue presented.
Relevant business context.
Initial problem framing.
Symptoms and possible contributing causes.
Key constraints and considerations.
Practical strategic options.
Trade-offs and risks.
Recommended next steps.
Assumptions and limits of the analysis.
The memo is intended to support clearer thinking, leadership discussion, and practical action. It is not an academic report, a full business diagnostic, or a complete implementation plan.
The preparation form should ideally be completed within 24 to 48 hours after booking.
The written memo is normally delivered within three to five business days after the advisory conversation.
Actual timing may depend on the completeness of the information submitted, the materials requiring review, scheduling availability, and the complexity of the issue.
Serious advisory work requires trust.
Information and materials submitted for the engagement will be used only for preparation, analysis, the advisory conversation, and development of the written memo.
SHIFT’s confidentiality practices include:
Limited access to client materials.
Review of only the information relevant to the engagement.
Confidential handling of issues discussed during the session.
No recording unless both parties agree.
Clear limits on the use of client information.
Controlled handling of submitted documents.
Before payment, you will be able to review the engagement terms, privacy provisions, confidentiality commitment, and cancellation or rescheduling policy.
Final business decisions remain the responsibility of the client.
The engagement does not constitute legal, tax, accounting, investment, or technical professional advice.
The initial engagement stands on its own. You are not required to proceed into a larger consulting project. Where the issue requires deeper analysis, leadership alignment, strategy development, or implementation support,
SHIFT may recommend a separately scoped engagement.
Any further work will be optional and will have its own scope, fee, schedule, and agreement.

Begin With a Clearer Understanding of the Issue
When an issue is important but unresolved, acting too quickly can lead to investment in the wrong solution. Waiting too long can allow uncertainty and complexity to grow.
The SHIFT advisory process provides a focused way to examine the situation, clarify what may really be happening, consider practical options, and determine the next sound step.
Introductory advisory fee: ₱45,000
Includes preparation, review of relevant materials, structured analysis, the 60-minute strategic advisory conversation, and the written executive memo.
